Whilst looking around on the web for phpLD templates, I found that web designers by the name of Futuristic Artists have a large range of phpLD Templates for all major versions including V2.0, V2.1, V3.0 and V3.1.
However, they do not seem to have any templates for V3.2, which I was looking for in the first place. But given their expertise in template design, I would expect they would update any template as long as their was enough call for it.
The template designs themselves are very attractive, and would so easily be a complete finish to any directory, without any tweaks whatsoever. To see what I mean, take a look at their Blue Horizon currently being used at Links Arena.
With a very wide-ranging portfolio, I’d definitely consider them to design a customised template for me. I’ll be adding them to my list of bookmarks!
I found this quite randomly when working on link exchanges, and its a complete list of free phpLD templates for a range of different phpLinkDirectory versions.
It’s the first time that I’ve seen a list of phpLDTemplates in a single place, and I’m glad that someone finally thought about doing it. If you’re starting a new phpLD directory, make sure you have a look at my Category Dumps, my phpLD PR Update Tool mod and then use this great list of phpLD templates to spruce it up!
You can also find another list at blueraccoon.org. Both lists are maintained by different authors.
phpLDTemplates.info is a popular and respected resource for phpLinkDirectory templates. Typically the blog is updated with new templates more frequently than I do on DirectorySpy.
If you’re a commited phpLD directory owner, then I strongly recommend phpLDTemplates.info as one of your directory resources.
Envy is a new green template by the chap behind CoJo Directory. The template is very clean (and green) with plenty of specific space for sponsor links and Google Adsense adverts.
The author has another template called Obscure, which is black and blue. This has space predominantly for Google Adsense, but it wouldn’t take much effort to add support for standard sponsor links.
Both templates have been designed for phpLinkDirectory V3.0.5 and you can download them at CoJo Directory. THere are also live demo links for each of the Obscure and Envy templates too.
The Storm is an awesome new template for phpLD V2.00 that has hit the scene. The author is behind the Free Legal Forms site,
You can find further details about the new template over at phpLDTemplates.info. You can see the live version over at SubmitZoo.
I’m noticing that a good way to get free backlinks these days is to release a sponsored template and then release it for free! You specify a condition that the links stay on the template, and then instant sitewide backlinks!
I had better get playing with my graphics package…
It really does look for directories (especially phpLD), as there are some increasingly excellent templates coming out these days! A strong community is building around the phpLD software, a real credit to the author.
The Highway template is a brand new template by the chap over at phpLD Templates.
It’s a clean and attractive design, with the focus on cars and automobiles. However, the design is so good, its worth using for any directory!
The PSD logo and font used are included in the downloadable zip package. Its only designed for phpLinkDirectory V2.0. however, I can see that demand of this skin will be high and a V3.0.6 will appear in the future!
Here are two new free phpLD templates by Shabu Anower over at OS Designer, StoneFlash and GreyLine. Both have been designed for phpLD V3.05 and V3.06 (there are 2 versions of each template accordingly). Both designs are very clean and attractive, and worth considering for your next directory!
StoneFlash has a nice relevant links area that could be used for creating sponsored links (where you can charge a small amount for renting link space). You could also insert Google Adsense adverts in here as an alternative.
GreyLine has areas above and below the link categories, which would also be suitable for Google Adsense. A tip from me, don’t over-do it with the adverts, as you will find that directory link submitters will avoid your directory. I personally avoid directories with far too many adverts.
There is talk of this very talented guy doing a phpLD V2.0 version of these templates. If he does, I’ll let you know!
Syed Balkhi from Domaining.in has created this very smart new template for phpLD V3.0.5 and V3.0.6. You can see a live demo of the template at sbdesigns.info.
I really like the partners and sponsors area of the template. This gives great incentives for you to solicit paid sponsors and to earn a little extra money to help promote your directory.
Providing you maintain the link back to the site, the template is free to use. You can download it from Domaining.in. The logo PSD file and fonts are included in the package so that you can customise the template to your own needs too!
The guy at phpLD Templates has a handful of free templates (including Brandy Wine, which is the one pictured on the left), available for phpLinkDirectory 2.0 and 3.0.
The free templates are simple and clean interfaces, but, fair credit to the guy, he’s saved his best work for the premium (paid for) templates. The premium templates cost just $15 USD each. (about £7 GBP to us Brits!)
It’s obvious from just the premium templates that this chap is getting progressively better at creating phpLD templates. These templates are very popular, so he must be doing something right! I can’t wait to see version 20!
If you’re looking for a clean and attractive template for your phpLinkDirectory, then I recommend the Real Blue Template by RealWD.
It’s completely free to use, as long as you maintain a backlink to their website. It also has support for both V2.0 and V3.05 of the infamous and popular phpLinkDirectory. You can see it action on their demo directory.
